An additional piece of info here...I believe that there are scholarships for the aquatics therapy programs through the Y, at least they are here in Waterville. We are lucky also to have a "Community Fitness Program" where some of the area fitness clubs and the Y provide scholarships to the fitness club. I have used this program myself and the 2 gyms that I have been to treated just as if I was a full-paying member. Hope this helps.

During the month of May you can stop by the Cohen Center and "Get a Pass, Take a Class" You can choose between either YMCA's or Advanced Health Fitness Club. This is a great chance to try out an exercise place and see if you like it and on top of it all you get a FREE gift :) Stop by or call today and the staff will get you on your way.

I have a membership at the Holiday Inn in Waterville, so I do my exercises in the heated pool..I don't necessarily swim but I do keep everything moving while I am in there. I lost 20 pounds a few years ago doing this and cutting back on meal portions. Now that I can go late at night I usually have the pool to myself...how relaxing is that. They also have a mini gym there with treadmills, weights, and elypticals...not spelled right probably but you know what I mean. Great place and the staff is awesome.

The Cohen Center in Hallowell has a weekly exercise class on Wednesday's from 10:00-10:45. The cost is only $2.00 per class and there is no commitment. Everyone should come and check it out. Call 626-7777 for more information and if interested.

i take a water aerobics class 2 mornings a week and love it. there are about 15 people in the class and we have a good time together as well as getting exercise. i love the no impact feature of this kind of exercise.

Have you checked out the new YMCA yet? The therapy pool is great. The water temp is a relaxing 87 degrees and the company is great too. We all meet and float around or do a few laps. I feel like a million bucks after. The sauna is great too.
