Carob Candy Balls
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup carob powder
Honey and Carob spread
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
2 Tbsp honey & sesame spread
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup powdered milk
1. Measure graham cracker crumbs onto a large plate or sheet of waxed paper; set aside.
2. Blend honey & carob spread, peanut butter, honey& sesame seed spread, wheat germ and powdered milk in a large bowl.
3. Form into 1 1/2-inch balls and roll in graham cracker crumbs to coat. Place in an airtight container or carefully cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 1 hour to set.
Makes 10-12 pieces.

I know one healthy recipes and I want to share it:)
* 1 cup steel cut oatmeal (do not use quick cooking or instant)
* 2 cups milk or half & half
* 2 Tbsp butter (optional)
* Optional: 1/2 cup of raisins, apples, mixed dried fruit
* Optional: 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or almonds
Cooking Instructions
Oil or butter slow cooker crock. Add all ingredients, stir. Cook on low 6 hours.

Friday, June 22nd from 5-6:30pm, the Cohen Center is having an Italian Feast Buffet Dinner. There serving up Veal Piccata and Spaghetti and Meatballs along with Appetizers, Garlic Rolls, Salad Bar and Tiramasui. Cost is $9.95 over 12 and $3.95 for 11 and under. Live entertainment by the Fiddlehedz!!! Where else can you get a full course meal w/ dessert for this great price?

I think it would be great to get recipies from the chefs at the centers...
I am not sure if I have room enough in my freezer for leftovers from a meal for 30 people though... I am going to have to get more chairs for my kitchen table.
Nothing like inviting some friends over to share a good meal.

Do your chefs ever share their recipes? I had a lovely meal at the Cohen Center recently and would love to know if and how I might request a recipe. thank you.

Hello everyone, have you had lunch at the Cohen Center in Hallowell? The food is excellent and the staff and volunteers are helpful and friendly! They always have 2 great selctions with salad bar and dessert for a great price. I ran in to some old high school friends, what a great way to reconnect with old faces.

My favorite dessert recipe is low-fat, and no sugar:
Ingredients:
frozen strawberries
banana
Take the berries from the freezer 1/2 hour before serving. Put partially thawed berries into a blender with a banana, blend until smooth.
Instant strawberry sorbet!
