How have your pets enriched your lives?
At Senior Spectrum we know the wonderful effect that pets can have on people’s lives. They can bring joy and happiness, laughter and fun, as well as bittersweet sorrow when they leave us. This month we would like to hear from you, your stories about your pets, and what they have done to enrich your life.
As always, please post your comments below, we are looking forward to hearing from you.
I love animals. In our home we have 2 dogs, 3 cats and a guinea pig. We are working on getting one more dog. They are so fun to watch and I always try to wonder what they are thinking. They are a true joy.

I love this topic. And I love all animals - especially dogs. Have rescued several and they fill my life with joy, their loyalty and lots of goofy-ness. As they say, no outfit is really complete without a few dog hairs on it:)
I wanted to mention to Mammymoon that some of the Senior Spectrum Centers have quilting groups. They meet to talk, socilize and quilt. Cohen and Muskie have them. Check out their newsletters on this web site.
I am also a quilter and not this weekend but next (July 27 - 29) is the big, big quilt show at the Augusta Civic Center if you are able to get there. It has loads of vendors, patterns and fabrics. I take a day off from work and go each year to replenish my "stash".
Got some great dog and cat applique patterns, too. It's nice to know there are so many of us out there with similar interests.

Yes having pets definately enriches our lives. We become attached to our pets as we do our family members.

my dog moses a golden retrieve was the bestdog a lady could have ever had....he was such a part of our family....for 14 years...he would always be there when i was going through difficult times....seemed to know when i was sad....he would sit by my chair and put his head on my knee and just look at me like he knew my heart was breaking and my every thought....he passed of old age....had to take him to the vet...because he was leaving puddles in the night while sleeping by the front door....when i took him in the vet was amazed at the fact that moses was walking...she said the dog had lost all his muscle was very old and in a great deal of pain....he never once complained...just loved us everyday of his life....and watched over my kids like a second momma........i have so many moses stories...we also raised his son eli....but only for 7 years...he passed with leukemia.....a few months after we lost moses....it was a very sad time in our home.....i have to this day have never seen a more beautiful golden than moses...he was tall....beautiful square head...shinny dark coat with long waves of red/golden hair and a beautiful long pluming tail..........yes indeed he was quite the king of goldens...and his son eli was just as beautiful....

I think that pets are great. I enjoy the sense of accomplishment that taking care of my pets gives me, as well the comfort they provide.
I can't imagine a life for myself without having them around.
