June 15, 2007 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
It’s estimated that approximately 14,000 seniors are abused in Maine every year, yet nearly 84% of elder abuse cases are never reported. What are some things you can do in your own community to bring attention to the problem of elder abuse?

If you suspect that a senior may be the victim of abuse, you can contact Adult Protective Services at 1-800-624-8404 and make a report anonymously.
