Best Ever Summer Day

What kind of memories do these warm summer days bring back?
When I was a child,I lived on the beach and use to sneak with my brother and sister to go swimming. My mother would find us and spank us on the way home. That ended our fun for that day; until we snuck off again.LOL. We would venture along the shore and find sea creatures. The small size ones of course. I always liked when the vacationers went back home after the summer. We would have the beach mostly to ourselves. We had good imaginations on ventures and games we would make up to play.
They were fond memories... We also had rides,a roller skating rink and arcades along the road traveling down the beach. My brothers sisters and I would walk with my mom and dad in the early evening after supper to get an ice cream cone. That was a special treat. At times the night air would have just a touch of coolness. Just right.
It was always a joy those walks to the ice cream stand. Have good summer memories this coming summer....

My best ever summer days were the ones that I spent working at the Boy Scout camp in East Eddington Maine. It was great getting away from home for ten weeks at a time, I learned a great deal.
All the days seem to run together, but the highlight of my time there would have to be wednesday nights when we cleaned the dining hall. All the staff gathered to move all the tables and benches (we sat 300+ people three times a day), we swept and mopped the floors one side at a time. It was great, we played music and were loud. We worked hard and the place shone when we were done. I can still smell the Murphys Oil Soap.
Those were great summer days.
