Reflections on the EXPO

The Lifestyle EXPO is a big event for Senior Spectrum and a big event for many of the people who visit.  It contains many different activities as well as opportunities for learning.

One thing that we can all be sure of is that everyone takes away something different from their time at the EXPO, and no, I am not talking about door prizes.  What I am talking about are experiences,  what you saw , what you learned, that sort of thing.

Senior Spectrum honors Vetrans

There are those for whom every day is Veteran's Day.  They are the survivors, the family and the friends of those distinguished members of our society that we call Veterans.  Every year on November 11 we honor those people, the living and those who have passed from this life.

We would like to hear from our community-  What do you think about Veteran's Day?  How do you feel about how this county treats its Veterans?  Do you have any stories that you would like to share?

With the rush of Black Friday shopping, the looming credit card debt, insane prices for gas and fuel oil, have we taken the holidays too far?  It begs the question, what are the Holidays now?  What are your ideas to bring about a simpler and more meaningful holiday season?

New Year, New Choices

In reflecting upon 2007, what changes would you like to make in 2008 for a healthier and happy life?    Many people resolve to make changes in their life for the  new year and then fall back into their old ways. Have you considered joining one of the many programs that are available to Active Agers?  They can help you to break out of your current habits by surrounding you with supportive staff and programs that you can stick with all year long.

Lets say, you could turn back the wheels of time and start over today...  What sort of career do you think that you would take up? 

The world today is much different than it was even ten years ago.  Computers are part of our daily lives now.  We work in a global marketplace, you can make and ship products from one end of the world to the other. 

Do you think that you would make the same choices about jobs and your career?  What would you have really like to have done, or are you one of the lucky few that found their dream job?
